Welcome to Montebenichi,
where you will experience the unique and authentic experience of living in a Chianti village. You will be welcomed by silence. Enraptured by the beauty of the landscapes you will have the opportunity to appreciate Tuscany, rich in art, history and culture.
Built in the first half of the 12th century, it has an internal surface area of about 1000 square meters.
From the terrace at the top of the castle you can admire the view of the Tuscan hills, the towns of Montepulciano, Montalcino, Cetona and Mount Amiata.
The castle was formerly a fortress with defensive purposes, around 1100 it was then transformed into a small village.
The Castle maintains an esoteric and magical atmosphere, thanks also to the many works of art kept inside, all of which are also for sale together with the property: among these we can admire a collection of Corinthian, Greek, medieval and Egyptian vases, Flemish paintings, a drawing by Pontormo, compendiary ceramics from 1500, some Elizabethan furniture, a recently restored altarpiece from 1440, Caravaggio paintings, ancient manuscripts, Renaissance cameos, 19th-century putti, Etruscan jewellery, 17th-century majolica, Venetian candelabra, Murano services and also a drawing by Dalì and one by Goethe, as well as many other works of art and small objects.
The prestigious property nevertheless maintains an intimate and familiar aspect, especially in its rooms; among the most iconic we find the Scorpion Room and the Rose Room.
The exteriors of the property extend for 2 hectares, boasting an olive grove with 154 olive trees and a 4000 m2 garden with swimming pool.
We also find changing rooms attached to the swimming pool area, a 70 m2 gym renovated in 2005, a laundry area and 12 parking spaces.
The Castle operated as a hotel until 2017 and for several consecutive years it was awarded as one of the 10 most beautiful hotels inside a Castle, moreover the only Italian structure to be included in the list.
In addition to the luxurious accommodation facility, there are also four small apartments, also renovated, of about 40-50 m2 each
